Tinder NZ Review- Best Dating App in New Zealand

Tinder

The Tinder app has been changing the online dating game since its launch back in 2012. The unique swiping motion made the app the perfect and better alternative for detailed long profiles. The app with a quicker, on-the-go and more photo-focused approach soon rose to popularity among users from different parts of the world.

Today, Tinder.com has also established itself as the best dating app in New Zealand. If you are in New Zealand or you want to date someone living in the country, read this review to know more about Tinder and what makes it your top choice for online dating.

How Does Tinder Work?

Tinder basically works with the use of an algorithm that rates profiles based on their popularity. It is a level playing field when you create your account on Tinder for the first time. However, when you receive more likes, or if you don’t receive any, it will then determine how visible your profile will be in the queues of other people in the next weeks and months.

Getting Started with Tinder

What makes Tinder a great dating app is that you can register for it and use it for free. The registration process won’t take you more than a minute or two.

At this point, all you need is a name, a valid mobile number, and nothing else. You don’t even need to upload any photos at this stage just yet or add lines to your Tinder profile or bio. It is completely up to you what you want to do.

However, Tinder photos are necessary if you want to receive matches. Tinder recommends that you include a minimum of three photos to make your profile stand out from the rest.

Having said that, you might want to complete a few minor tasks, such as deciding on the distance range for your potential matches and deciding on the minimum and maximum age.

Tinder Premium Plans and Features

Tinder has three premium plans you can choose from, and these are the following:

Tinder Plus

At $4.99 a month, Tinder Plus helps you save money if you lock yourself into a subscription plan for 6 or 12 months. For this, you will get access to unlimited rewinds or going back to a profile in the queue if you swiped incorrectly, unlimited likes, and changing your location. This is better than being a free member where Tinder will just use your current location and you can no longer change it.

Tinder Gold

The upgrade for Tinder Plus, Tinder Gold cost you $14.99 a month, and for this plan, you will be getting the same features as Tinder Plus. On top of these, you will also get a free boost every month, 5 Super Likes a week, and most importantly, you can view the people who liked you.

The last one is a key feature since it will save you the trouble of endless swiping through profiles to see who has liked you. You can instead unblur all your likes so that you can check every profile and determine right away if you will swipe No or Yes.

Tinder Platinum

Finally, with Tinder Platinum, you can take advantage of all features available with Tinder Gold and Plus together with the ability to send a message to someone before matching with them. Prioritized likes are also available. You can even view the Likes you sent during the last week. This plan will cost you $19.99 a month.

How to Match with People on Tinder

After you have your Tinder account up and running, you are now free to get started by swiping on the profiles of other members.

Take note that the Tinder app doesn’t come with a search function. Instead, the profiles of your potential matches will be queued for you. You can then decide if you will swipe right or left. A swipe left means No while a swipe right means Yes.

Once you have swiped on someone, one more profile will show up and you will never longer see anyone that you swiped Yes for until that person swipes you with a Yes. If this happens, it will become a mutual match and the profile will show up in the Matches section you can find on the left corner of the screen if you are using the desktop version. This is the one and only time when you can then start a conversation.

On the other hand, you can also wait for the other person to start breaking the ice. Also, there are times when someone will swipe right for you even before their profile shows up in your queue. Once it happens, you will see that you got a certain number of likes in the Matches section.

However, unless you are a premium member, all of these will be concealed from you. This only means that you need to continue to swipe through your queue until you swipe either right or left on them.

If a person has swiped left for you but you swipe right for them or the other way around, you will never see their profile ever again and as a result, the two of you won’t be able to chat with each other. After you have matched and begun a conversation, you will then be free to see where things go and if you are lucky, you might even set up a date in person.

It will be completely up to you what to arrange and what to say. However, if things don’t go so well with the person you are matched with, you can also use the option to click their profile and un-match them.

The Bottom Line

Needless to say, Tinder.com is truly an app that makes dating simpler, easier, faster, and more fun for everyone. If you are in New Zealand searching for dates, or you hope to date someone living in NZ, you can use Tinder to your advantage and find new friends and dates in no time!
